What teachers should do before school starts and on holiday breaks: take at least one little vacation. For us that meant a quick visit to see family in San Antonio where I was raised. Our first stop was at Mission San Jose. We enjoyed an educational documentary and then roamed all around the peaceful grounds. The church was magnificent and is still being used today.
Next we went to the Sunken Gardens which used to be a stone quarry. It is now a beautiful park. Minds cleared, new ideas discovered; we were ready to start another year.
