A Sneaky Butterfly Moth and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Cat From Bolivia

Here are more interesting science pictures from my musical friends in Boliva,  +Victoria Miller and +Kristin Miller.

The first photo is actually not of a butterfly; it is a moth.  A very pretty moth I might add.  And the chrysalis can be identified by the little string sling at the top which would identify it as probably from the Papilionidae (swallowtail) family.

The Millers have a science-geek friend who believes it is possibly, "a type of Cattleheart Swallowtail, maybe Parides eurimedes?  Or something else in the Parides genus."

And, because they are fun, creative, musican-type people, they also love cats.   I think I really like Bolivian cats if they are all as good-humored as this one seems to be.
