After one of my more creative students finished his South America project using string art, he wanted to do more. I printed him a map of the United States, bought him a bag full of embroidery thread at a thrift store, and then this appeared in my classroom the next week. I call this "feeding" a student's interest, and I feel that it is well worth the extra effort on my part.
