When my students write in their journals every day, I have them write a number at the top so I know which entry it is. If they have all their entries for the week, they get an A for a quiz grade. After one of my students wrote their number in a very creative way, I encouraged the others to make their numbers creative as well. The results were interesting. I love it when my students give me good ideas.
