When Jeff was in school and had to write a short story, he gave it the title "The Short Story." His teacher wrote something like "creative title" on his paper. So, when I asked Jeff for a title for this post, that title is what I got.
To conclude our unit on the rise of Islam in the 5th-7th centuries, we made waterwheels. The Muslims used these to irrigate fields and grow crops such as sugarcane, almonds, and citrus fruits, which they couldn't have grown without the irrigation.

When some of the bowls weren't deep enough, my student engineers got blocks and extended the sides of the bowls higher.
