This weekend Christian Aid Ministries is having its Open House, and our students were invited to the student preview version during school hours yesterday. After a brief slide show which introduced us to some of the work that CAM does, we toured the exhibits set up in the warehouse for about an hour. My students got to walk inside several realistic recreations of places in other countries such as a Haitian schoolroom, a refugee tent in Yemen, an African hut, and a Honduran medical clinic. They ground corn with a real mortar and pestle, sampled dried fish, ate dried apricots from Jerusalem; and most importantly, spoke with missionaries from distant countries and asked them questions. This was a fabulous field trip.
