I have some students that are more book writers than they are builders, engineers, or sculptors. So, I give my students the option of creating a portfolio instead of a three-dimensional project. The ones who chose this option had to create a portfolio with a minimum of ten pages; and those had to include a map, at least five pictures, and three other pages of their choice. Each picture had to have an accompanying paragraph with an explanation. They also had to have a three-dimensional object that could hopefully fit inside a plastic page protector inside the binder. Most of them exceeded these requirements, and the results were pretty neat.
This student's three-dimensional object was a clay Terra Cotta warrior.
