Last Friday, we had an absolutely delightful lunch at the Cup of Grace Tea Room in Richland, PA, near Myerstown. The environment was peaceful and inviting, the food was delicious, and the service was marvelous. It was quite a treat, and I will be back.
First we chose our tea cups and then were seated in the Garden Room.
We were served an amazing ice tea: mint tea with peach nectar and ginger ale. It was soooooooo yummy! Next came the hot tea; we chose creme brulee and Earl Grey. Then we had our choice of soup or salad. Jeff got the salad and I got the soup. They were both yummy. The chicken salad sandwich was served on a buttery, fluffy homemade croissant.
Then this came out. I felt like I was the Queen of England for just a little bit.
These dainty pastries were all delicious, and the cranberry and dark chocolate scones were amazing.
We drove about forty minutes to get there, but I assure you that it was worth it, and the pastoral scenery on the way was relaxing as well.
Cup of Grace is open Wednesday-Saturday by reservation only. Contact Gwen at cupofgracetearoom at gmail.com.
We decided to go to the Lighthouse Thrift Store after our meal, and that was a fun surprise, too! The store has a nice selection of goodies, the prices are reasonable, and the people friendly. I'll be back there, too!
