Bamboo, Bamboo, Bamboo!

The most recent art project we completed was an India ink painting of bamboo using both positive and negative space.  After staining the paper with coffee, we used pictures of bamboo and some real bamboo that I brought in to make the sketches, and then India ink for the painting.  This project is part of the ARTiculations high school art curriculum, level 5, and it's great!  

When we were finished painting, we mounted them on black poster board and now they are ready to be displayed in the halls of the school.
