This post is on an honor roll party held at Nakuru Christian School in Nakuru, Kenya. Yes, Kenya, as in Africa. Delores Mast is one of the teachers, and here is her description of their party:
We studied colonial America and then had a Pilgrim and Indian feast, complete with races and contests. We had small prizes for the winners, and tried to make sure everyone got a little something. They were generous with each other.
We asked the other two youth girls to help us serve, and we dressed as Pilgrims serving the Indians. The "Indians" came dressed for the occasion along with an Indian name previously chosen. It was a great hit. Our menu was whole chicken with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, crescent rolls, and pumpkin pies. I told them they were eating goose shot from the skies. They played along nicely and I didn't think much of it until a couple of mothers told us their daughters came home convinced that they ate goose. :)
Thanks for sharing Delores, and keep up the good work!
