It is amazing to me what four or five minutes, an idea, a prepared example, and some student creativity can do. Last week for our Friday creative art journaling, I wanted my students to learn how to make paper dolls. There is just something so fun about making a few cuts and then pulling the string of little people out, and I wanted my students to experience it. So, I had the strips of paper all ready for them when they arrived for English class, and showed them how to fold and cut them. Then I gave them a few minutes to be creative. While they were finishing up, I put pieces of tape on their desks so that they could tape their paper dolls in their journals.

My Students and I Played with Paper Dolls the Other Day
