After we finished the history chapter on the Renaissance, I thought it would be fun to make geodesic domes. Because of the pressure the different-sized pieces put on each other, by the time the top is attached, the structures stand up all by themselves even though they are only made out of rolled-up newspaper pages. This project was inspired by the fascinating Bruneschelli's dome atop the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, Italy.
