For art class and for fun this week, we painted rocks. After I found a painted rock from Vermont, I began this interesting little hobby myself during the Covid lockdown. I thought this would be a nice little art project for the students, and that by hiding them for someone else to find, they would be brightening someone else's day as well. I primed the rocks for the students, then we used acrylic paint to decorate them. After school, I took them outside and put about three coats of spray clear varnish on them.
We hid them at the park, and most of them were gone when we went looking for them today. Two are still there if anyone wants to go on a painted rock hunt.
