Pop Art Donuts

This was a pretty easy and fun art project we did recently.  First we sketched our donuts on white cardstock.  I encouraged the students to add glaze, sprinkles, drizzle, or whatever they liked on their donuts.  Next we painted the background.  The following day we painted the donut part, and the last day we added the sprinkles and drizzles.  I cut them to 8.5" x 8.5", and we hung them on the wall.

Our school usually does art together with all grades 1st-8th participating, so we adapt the projects so that the younger ones aren't frustrated and the older ones are challenged.  While the older students were encouraged to experiment with the toppings (one student made a three-dimensional glaze!), the younger students used markers to complete theirs.  This made their teachers very happy :-).
