Maple Grove Mennonite Academy is Accepting Applications for Kindergarten

Maple Grove Mennonite Academy is a K-9th grade Anabaptist school located in Trinity Church on Main Street in Terre Hill.

MGMA is committed to providing a quality education to students, utilizing both proven traditional methods as well as innovative, hands-on learning opportunities. Incorporating Anabaptist curricula and values in a small group setting enables students to have both a solid educational foundation and the opportunity to experience it practically by doing hands-on experiments and projects in everything from math and literature to art and music.

CURRICULUM

Most of the curriculum used at Maple Grove Mennonite is Anabaptist; the rest is presented from a Christian perspective. Traditional educational methods are used for the basic subjects with as many hands-on activities as possible. History is literature -based, and many of the art projects are from what is being studied in either science or the time period in history.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION, SPANISH, ART, AND MUSIC

These four subjects are part of almost every school day. Students need exercise and fresh air. They also need to be creative and to use their minds in different ways other than reading, writing, and arithmetic. Science experiments, art, choir, band class, and hands-on history projects are all part of the well-rounded education offered at MGMA.

Hands-on learning means that students don’t just read about concepts in books; it means that they create and experience what they are learning. Whether that includes a field trip, a building project, a science experiment, or an art project, the goal at MGMA is to allow students to learn in as many different ways as they possibly can.

Kindergarten classes run February through May and are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
