The Abiding Peace Virtual School art students completed their Medieval-era illuminated letters last week. It was challenging and interesting to come up with as many things that we really liked which began with the same letters as our names. Example above: A, alpaca, apples
Here is what did the first week. We drew the borders and then sketched our calligraphy letters and other items. Next, we went over the pencil sketches with fine tip markers. The next week, we used colored pencils to vividly color (pressing down really hard) everything except for the letter. We then painted those with metallic gold paint.
