Several years ago, I visited a school which had an amazing art program. As I ran all over the school taking pictures and getting all kinds of ideas, I ran across a piece of quilling. After researching a bit, I discovered that quilling was practiced during the colonial era in America (although it is believed that it originated in ancient Egypt and was practiced during the Renaissance in France and Italy), and thus it became one of my favorite hands-on history projects for the colonial era.
These works of art were completed by the Abiding Peace Virtual School art class.
